Introduced a lady to the concept of fanfiction earlier today. :)

I was at the PX food court waiting for my lunch and reading Sherlock fic on my Nook (I've had my booth back open off and on since October), and she asked me what I was reading that I was smiling about. (This is the fic I was/am reading, by the way, it's John/Sherlock though I haven't gotten to that part yet.) I told her that it was Sherlock fanfiction and she didn't know the word. I explained that fanfiction was stories written by fans, for fans, and that any pairing you like has at least one story where they get together, and she said...I don't remember the exact words but something about having movies on tap, which I thought was a pretty neat way of describing things.
