So it looks like I won't be able to afford to go to Florida next month after all.

I'd really been looking forward to it too. Not just being there, spending time with my mom and stepdad, my dad and stepmom and brother and sisters, eating awesome pizza at Kelsey's (Titusville) and drinking chai smoothies from Keva Juice (Sarasota)...I was really looking forward to the drive itself. Chris and I drove to Florida and back last year, and even with occasional trips to Syracuse (an hour and a half each way) I still don't have my road trip ya-yas out. I don't think I ever will, to be honest--I just love driving.

Plus I really miss Florida. I miss the heat and humidity even though it was really uncomfortable last time and I was even uncomfortably warm indoors because even the air conditioning at my mom's, at my dad's, at Chris's parents' house felt uncomfortably warm after three years in Alaska (where even the summers feel not unlike Florida winters) and one in New York (where the summers are hot but it still snows in the winter and winter takes for-ehh-vurr). This time--well, whenever I get to go, hopefully sometime this year--I'm going to make myself stay outside and acclimate. Especially since I want to go to the beach. I miss swimming in general but I really miss the ocean, which was something I took for granted before leaving Florida and now I want my hair crusted with salt water and sand between my toes but I'd have to go with my family because otherwise I'd get lost because the water moves you sideways when you're floating on the ocean and looking around and listening to the noise of the surf and the other people and all, and all the boardwalks look the same.

So...yeah. It's cold here in upstate New York and I'm homesick.
