Lawrence O'Donnell Rockin' my Socks.
Mar. 24th, 2011 09:49 amDay One:
And now I have Jimmy Buffett's "Apocalypso" stuck in my head. Planets come and planets go, apocalypso / Undisturbed the dancers flow, apocalypso... And I can't even be disappointed in either Bill O'Reilly or Glenn Beck because I don't expect anything even remotely rational from either of them. When they do have brief moments of rationality, I'm always pleasantly surprised. After all, even a broken clock is right twice a day. ;P
Plus, Larry's brazen (for an American show, especially a live one!) talk about religion and the Book of Revelations...be still my godless American heart!
Day Two:
In this one he says a lot of stuff about religion that comprise most of the things I argue about with friends regarding Christianity, except where Larry talks about Christianity growing and abandoning stuff like talking back to your parents being punishable by death, I call it cherry-picking. I still think it's that, and Christian cherry-picking goes back to before the Council of Nicaea, but he still rocks it out, and I'm super impressed with MSNBC and NBC Universal that Larry is still on the air. Maybe the USA is a nation is finally starting to mature on the subject of religion. Maybe it'll be commonplace someday that criticizing someone's religious beliefs won't be taboo, that religion will someday not be immune to criticism.
