ARGH.

So the plan was that right before Chris went to bed I'd pack up and take my work to the house so I could work on my stuff and listen to podcasts or music or whatever without the damned headphones that have to stick inside my ear (ew ew ew and uncomfortable!). I did that much, and even brought a few more of my things over to the house. I had the computer set up and even had internet by using a neighbor's connection (is a temporary thing; we fully intend to get our own secure line as soon as our TVs and my desktop arrive with our household goods) so I could listen to Keith Olbermann and Rachel Maddow and Lawrence O'Donnell since I missed seeing most of their shows for the past week live.

Well I caught up with Keith yesterday at the inn with the awful ear thingies, and caught up with Rachel at the "house" (I'm just gonna call it that 'cause it's easier, there's no place I can call "home" at the moment), and I tried to boil water for hot chocolate (I'm glad I didn't waste any milk!) but all I got from the gas stove that I was so glad to have was a nauseating gas smell but I let it go for about half an hour to see if there'd be any sort of actual heat but there was none and my minor headache was getting bad and I was feeling nauseous so I packed up the computer stuff and just my current project and went back to our room at the inn.

And I woke Chris up by coming in around 9pm (yesterday now since it's been Monday now for about 15 minutes) and basically the whole idea was a bust because of the gas stove being all fucked up.

And I kept Chris up because I had to make green tea and eat saltines to calm down the nausea (it worked, and it helped my headache; maybe I was a bit dehydrated 'cause I had soda at the other place and it didn't help) and now I've been on the computer for a few hours, i.e., not getting any crocheting done even though I have almost enough light because I am weak-willed when I have internets and space for the USB mouse. (At the house we have two chairs with tiny side tables and I put the laptop on that so I could watch Rachel/Lawrence while I crocheted; there was no room for the mouse or mousepad so no real temptation to read my flist without the mouse 'cause I'm spooooiiiled.)

And, um, yeah. Another bitchy stream of consciousness brought to you by Fort Drum Privatized Housing. Eurgh.
