Crochet Lady (well her name is Peggy) is this nice lady (though business-minded, she reminds me of Nancy from Souvlaki in that respect) who has a booth at the PX for the holidays. She sells hand-crocheted and machine-knitted goods and a few other odds and ends. When I first saw her booth I asked her about pricing and having a booth, and her table looked a bit sparse so I asked if I could contribute so I wouldn't have to stock my own booth.
Yesterday I was gonna bring her my samples but I forgot them when I grabbed my jacket, but I was able to show her my crochet blog on my Blackberry. The things there looked good to her and today I brought in the things I'd made since we got to New York (since everything else is with our household goods). And she bought all but one of the things I showed her!
There are certain things she wants made and certain yarn she wants them made with, so tonight she's gonna go out and get the kind of yarn she wants me to use and tomorrow I'll go and reimburse her for it (I don't have a ride off post right now without paying exorbitant cab fees), and then in a week I'll come back with what I've made and she'll buy them at the sort of prices she paid today.
So YAY! I'm a real business woman now or something. (Though I suppose I should start getting receipts if I'm gonna get any kind of tax write-offs.)
Well I told Chris I'd only be a few minutes at the computers so I'll see y'all later. I do read your replies on my Gmail app but it doesn't give me the links to directly reply so that's why it takes a few days for me to reply lately. I'm now concentrating on the crochet a lot (I'll use the yarn I have left to make scrunchies tonight since she's buying those too).
